Ever feel like you’re just trying to keep up? I, along with many, have a constant hunger to learn and keep up with current events. For some their jobs benefit from keeping a finger on the pulse of this ever changing tech culture. The number above is an extremely low amount, in which I have unsubscribed from many feeds. Normally we’re looking at hundreds of unattended articles, some good, some were psd resources and plenty more are just bad. I usually open up my app, act like I am going to read a bunch of articles, then end up pressing “mark all as read.”
I’ve always battled with finding a productive and efficient way of intaking current events. I’ve tried the RSS route, but no go. Got excited about Apples reading list, never touched it. Don’t get me started about bookmarks, consider it my junk drawer that needs cleaning every month. Still it’s an important routine that needs to be created.
At this point I think I’m getting by with using twitter, flipboard and podcasts. Between the instantaneous blasts of tweets, my tuning into conversations and the occaional flipping through articles. I feel I’ve got a general eye on the tech industry. As always, I’m interested in finding out what works for most. Especially those with minimal time, and are in the field.
